Development Outsourcing has been bringing value to fundraising for decades. Today, development departments can outsource grant writing, special events, and marketing and communications. What do these functions have in common? They are all “Niche Talent” that supports the organization’s relationship with the funder but are not in “out-front” positions.
Why should your database be any different? Consider the following questions:
You have a full-time “database manager,” but is there full-time work for the database?
On the other hand, you have one full-time “database manager,” but do you need more resources?
Often, this is where we see “gift processing coordinator” positions, elevating the work of the database manager.
Prioritize quality. There is a high level of expertise in companies that specialize in nonprofit database management.
Your development team wants to be flexible and able to adapt to changes, and outsourcing provides that flexibility.
Given that the nonprofit community adapted to remote database work over the past couple of years, is it time for your organization to consider outsourcing database management?
